SHERLOCK HOLMES'S VFX WINS VES AWARD
Chas Jarrett, Dan Barrow, Jonathan Fawkner and Double Negative's David Vickery were honoured with the award for Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Feature Motion Picture for their work on Sherlock Holmes at the VES Awards last night.
Double Negative is proud to congratulate the award winners and all the Dneg team on Sherlock Holmes for their outstanding work.
Set in 1893, the film takes place at the height of the late Victorian period when Tower Bridge was under construction. The Dneg team, led by Visual Effects Supervisor David Vickery worked mainly on the recreation of 19th century London, including the docklands area and the half-built Tower Bridge. The team’s aim was to faithfully recreate this area of London as authentically as possible, a task made doubly difficult by the fact that most of the area had been destroyed during the Blitz.
