Founded in 1998 with a team of just 30, Double Negative (Dneg) has grown to become one of the industry's success stories and is now Europe's largest provider of visual effects for Film. The Company now operates from locations in London and Singapore to serve the global film and Television community. Collaborating with film makers from the first stages of projects; producing ideas and concept imagery, developing previs and vfx production plans. Europe's largest VFX R&D team create tools for artists who produce ground breaking digital environments, creatures, digital characters and effects from the real (water, smoke and fire) to the magical.
Through our steady and constant growth we have always sought to retain both the creative drive and involvement of our artists through all projects and a close collaborative working relationship with clients. This approach ensures films both small and large receive the same high standard of creative and technical service. This has proved a winning combination resulting in awards recognition from the Visual Effects Society (Inception and Sherlock Holmes), BAFTA (Inception and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2) and the Academy Awards (Inception).
Over the past 12 months, Double Negative’s completed works include The Dark Knight Rises, Bourne Legacy, Skyfall, Les Miserables, Fast & Furious 6, Captain Phillips, Rush, Man of Steel, The World’s End, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Thor: The Dark World and Cuban Fury. Shows currently in production include Jupiter Ascending, Transcendence, Godzilla, Interstellar, Ex Machina, In The Heart of the Sea, Book of Exodus and Hercules.
2013 saw the launch of Double Negative Films formed specifically to provide VFX support and investment to British-qualifying productions.
2013 also saw, the formation of Dneg TV. A division to tailor Dneg's skills to the specific needs of the Television industry. The division is run by a handpicked team with over 50 combined years of noted success in TV VFX. Recently completed projects include Ridley Scott’s The Vatican for Sony Television and the BBC’s By Any Means and Death in Paradise. The team are currently working on a variety of projects including ITV’s Mr Selfridge.
