About Us

Founded in 1998 with a team of just 30, Double Negative (DNeg) has grown to become one of the industry's success stories and is now Europe's largest provider of visual effects for Film (operating from locations in both London and Singapore). We collaborate with film makers from the first stages of projects; producing ideas and concept imagery and developing previs and vfx production plans. Meanwhile, our VFX R&D team (Europe’s largest) create the tools for our artists to produce ground breaking digital environments, creatures, digital characters and effects from the real (water, smoke and fire) to the magical.

Through our steady and constant growth we have always sought to retain both the creative drive and involvement of our artists through all projects and a close collaborative working relationship with clients. This approach ensures films both small and large receive the same high standard of creative and technical service. This has proved a winning combination resulting in awards recognition from the Visual Effects Society (Inception and Sherlock Holmes), BAFTA (Inception and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2) and the Academy Awards (Inception).

Our most recent works include Man of Steel, Rush, Captain Phillips, The World's End, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Thor: The Dark World, Transcendence, Godzilla and Jupiter Ascending. Shows currently in production include Interstellar, Ex Machina, In The Heart of the Sea, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Book of Exodus, Hercules, Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Terminator: Genesis, Insurgent, Grimsby, Ant-Man and Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Last Year saw the launch of Double Negative Films formed specifically to provide VFX support and investment to British-qualifying productions.

2013 also saw, the formation of Dneg TV. A division to tailor Dneg's skills to the specific needs of the Television industry. The division is run by a handpicked team with over 50 combined years of noted success in TV VFX. The team are currently working on a variety of projects including Outlander for Sony Pictures TV, Mr Selfridge for ITV and Roald Dahl's Esio Trot, Remember Me and Death in Paradise for the BBC.

Most recently, in early April this year, we announced set up our new Feature Animation Division, created to work with IP creators and filmmakers in the creation of high end animated features.
